VPN MFA Setup

MFA is enabled on the VPN appliances. The system will guide you through a one-time application provisioning process. Once provisioned, you will be prompted to enter a passcode to connect to VPN. The provisioning process is straightforward and utilizes Microsoft Authenticator which is the same application used when you receive an MFA prompt for O365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

Registration Process

Launch the SonicWall VPN client and click Connect.

Enter your login credentials (first initial followed by your last name).

Launch Microsoft Authenticator, select Verified IDs (bottom right), and scan the QR code.

Enter the six-digit code generated by CS MFA VPN Access in the Microsoft Authenticator application. Click OK.

Upon successful registration, note the backup codes, and store them on OneDrive. The backup codes will grant you access in the event you are unable to use Microsoft Authenticator. You can also login to my.camsys.com and click your initials at the top right of the screen, then select details. This opens a System Status window. From there expand, the App based One-Time Password section.
The backup codes are non-expiring.

The steps outlined below are for the purpose of connecting to the network via VPN when it is not possible to use Microsoft Authenticator.

Login to my.camsys.com
Select your first initial.
Select Details.
Expand App based One-Time Password.
Save backup codes to OneDrive.
